Taking a Bite of the Apple
How Education Hypnotizes the Masses That simple bite of apple represents the loss of all the simple goodness that God offers in exchange for man’s self-induced feeling of power. The ultimate trade-off begins—knowledge in place of wisdom. In his denial of God, man believes he can achieve anything without God, because now in his hypnotic state he uses this ungodly force to drive him through life, and each passing day he has to find this “feeling” and hold onto it at any cost. The Hypocrisy of Education
We all start out in life with the same road map. We turn five years old, and everyone tells us how fun school is going to be. You wake up the morning of your first day of school, and you are kind of excited because all the things that were told to you about school sound so exciting and fun. You will be able to do arts and crafts, play with other kids, learn your ABCs and the list goes on. And, for many of us, it was kind of fun until the part they forgot to tell you about: y

Dumbing Down America
Last week I had the greatest opportunity to go to Hawaii with my 14-year-old son, Luke. Our company was contracted for a month-long engagement on Oahu and was provided with a beautiful condo and a car. Luke and I took full advantage and spent ten days there, staying in the same 2-bedroom condo along with a few of our business partners and employees. It was very comfortable, but we all know that when you live with people you really get to know them well. One day, one of our yo

A Father’s Lesson
I have learned my best lessons in life from my failures, and, God knows, I have had plenty of them! My path is littered with mistakes. Along with my successes, I am also famous for the things I have done wrong and the hundreds of attempts at failed ideas. If you had my dad as your dad, there would be a preponderance of reminders of how bad a businessperson you had been, or how you had missed the ultimate lessons etc., and, if you were looking for his approval, forget it. He d

Men and Their Weakening Anger; Women and Their Submissive Cruelty
Ladies, do you really love your husbands? Do your husbands get angry with you easily? Do find yourself wanting to please your husband and keep the peace, or should I say, calm the monster in your husband? Do you feel that it is your duty and responsibility to keep your husband happy at any cost and so you are phony sweet or maybe you even start a conversation about someone that you both can judge just to steer his anger away from you to some other soul? Do you even find yours

Working Through Traumas
Every child is going to be subject to tiny traumas, like the cruelty of friends or falling down on a playground. It’s the way we as parents deal with these tiny traumas that help our kids get through these moments without being traumatized for life. I remember when I was a child watching my mother overreacting to tiny traumas with exclamations like, “Oh My God, Roy!” But my dad was always calm, collected, bold, and fully present, and this attitude was the overwhelming force t

Kids and Punishments
The majority of parents are baffled about punishing their children. Most of us are guilty of being angry at our kids one minute and the next minute being too nice and patronizing. When you are out of balance, impatient and frustrated, then you are without true love, and no matter what punishment you dish out, it will hurt, not help, your child. It may sound strange for me to say this, but the best punishment my Dad ever gave me was to put me on restriction or to be grounded!

A Christmas Story
Kids and Christmas When my four brothers and I were very young, we learned something about the true meaning of Christmas. On a December day, my dad loaded our whole family into our VW bus and we headed to Lake Arrowhead to spend a few days. We had the pleasure of staying at a friend’s log cabin in the mountains. It was so much fun with a huge fire roaring, snow falling outside, and my brothers and I running up and down the stairs, sledding in the yard, and throwing snowbal

Don’t Overprotect Your Kids!
As I observe parents with their children, I notice that it is mostly women who are overprotective. Why? They have a need to control the outcomes of their children. Does this sound a little like playing God? I have witnessed the power women feel as they exercise control over every aspect of their children’s lives: always guessing their every step to keep them completely safe, making them study so they will be smart, choosing their clothes, friends, and food, not letting anyo

No Bullies, No Pressures, No Reasons to Fail!
Does this describe your children’s school? If it doesn’t, get your kids out! Now ask yourself, “What should I do with my kids if they don’t go to public school?” The answer will be one of the ultimate sacrifices put before you! You might have to move, you might have to home-school your children, and you might have to be inconvenienced. I am convinced that our children begin to lose their innocence the moment they enter into public school and leave the protection of their p

How to Raise Healthy Minded Kids
There is no such thing as a troubled kid. There are only troubled parents! If you are going to raise healthy-minded teenagers, you must first work at your own weakness. Facing your impatience suddenly makes you realize that your child is not the problem, you are. What does this mean? Don’t ever underestimate a two and three year old child. They are highly intelligent beings with most of their awareness intact which makes your job either easier or harder, depending on your lev

Kids and Discovery
Do you believe if you allowed your children to have a healthy freedom, they would learn just about everything they would ever need to know on their own? I do, and I call it discovery! If you live in fear your children are not learning or are not the smartest or most athletic and think that if you pressure them and help them to be better than everyone in their class, you will assure the perfect outcome for them—well, think again! You have just bought into the biggest and mos

How to Inspire Your Teenagers
September 13, 2009 If you have teenagers, then you are in for either the best time of your parenting life or the worst! I’m not sure at what age your fun-loving kids turn into hormonal blobs in angry, frustrated, adult-sized bodies with no concept of maturity and the mentality of a ten-year-old, but this can be prevented! The things you do with your kids when they are young will spill over into what they become when they are teenagers, and subsequently when they become adults

Un-teaching Teachers
October 8, 2009 Did you start out in life being a carefree, fun-loving kid, kind of like a wild animal with a lot freedom to discover, explore and become the ultimate adventurer? Life was so good when you were three or four years old, and then one day, when you were about five years old, you were swept up by a parent and taken to a big, brick building and left there alone for an entire day; and that was it, life ended as you knew it! Your freedom was turned into a sort of ens

The Taming of the Shrewd
July 22, 2010 While the gang of connivers in the White House boastfully proclaims, “Never waste a good crisis,” the barrage of America-bound, economy-busting bombs from the administration’s playbook, “How to Corral Shrewd American Entrepreneurs”, continues. As an entrepreneur, I would like to know where this administration got its training in business. Like so many other American businessmen and women, I keep scratching my head and wondering what the big plan for America is.

Let's Create A Small Business Movement
June 6, 2012 “The Innovative Kids of America Project” Over Memorial Day weekend, I had the distinct pleasure of launching my newest concept to teach America’s kids how to become young entrepreneurs. “The Innovative Kids of America Project” was an absolute hit with fair attendees at The Sacramento County Fair. The idea is based on my series of kids’ books, "How to Become an Entrepreneurial Kid", that I wrote to share my own kids' success learning the lessons of starting a busi

Getting Back to Basics
Wednesday, July 28, 2010 Because of this crazy economy, we all start to think about the real possibility of losing our jobs and our way of life. Unfortunately most Americans have searched most of their lives, not for long term financial security, but for comfort! We buy beautiful things for our homes, nice cars, overpriced clothing and jewelry. We wine, dine, and pay for expensive entertainment, all the while not thinking about what we would do if it all came to a sudden stop

How Entrepreneurial Kids Can Save America
Thursday, April 28, 2011 Just imagine a thriving American economy, full of happy business owners on the constant lookout for great employees! Imagine kids, instead of standing on street corners looking for trouble, standing in line for their business licenses. And imagine what the attitude of our country would be if the school system looked at our kids as potential leaders instead of as potential losers. We would wake up in the morning full of vision, dreams and ideas, and ou
