The majority of parents are baffled about punishing their children. Most of us are guilty of being angry at our kids one minute and the next minute being too nice and patronizing. When you are out of balance, impatient and frustrated, then you are without true love, and no matter what punishment you dish out, it will hurt, not help, your child. It may sound strange for me to say this, but the best punishment my Dad ever gave me was to put me on restriction or to be grounded!

There is no such thing as a troubled kid. There are only troubled parents! If you are going to raise healthy-minded teenagers, you must first work at your own weakness. I’m not sure at what age your fun-loving kids turn into hormonal blobs in angry, frustrated, adult-sized bodies with no concept of maturity and the mentality of a ten-year-old, but this can be prevented! The things you do with your kids when they are young will spill over into what they become when they are teenagers, and subsequently when they become adults
